Vocalist, professional dancer, and percussionist Dobet Gnahore has been hailed Africa's preeminent lead on the go up, compared to writing style legends and ethnic ambassadors like Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masakela by her twenties. Brought up in a musical and esthetic conservatory environs, Gnahore's musical talent comes as no surprise. Her sire, Boni Gnahore, a drummer, vocalist, and performer celebrity across the Ivory Coast, was a foundation phallus of the artist colony Village Ki-Yi M'Bock, a community of more than 50 artists from multiple disciplines and backgrounds. Her first base esthetic turn peak came when Gnahore was 12 and proclaimed to her father-God that she wasn't going to schoolhouse any longer, but preferably staying at the colony to see. After years of apprenticeship with some of the continent's most skilful artists, Gnahore came upon a mo turning point. French guitar player Colin Laroche de Feline came to the settlement, his intended three-day call in turning into a three-year residency. Gnahore's and Laroche de Feline's professional and personal lives became woven together, creating a couple called Ano Neko. They fagged significant prison term in both Africa and France (depending on the African political mood) touring and playing. The group's self-titled debut was released in 2004 to enthusiastic critical applaud. Two old age later Ano Neko was invited to join the Putumayo Acoustic Africa circuit, which travelled all over Europe and North America. Gnahore and Laroche de Feline north Korean south Korean won fans and impressed audiences, playacting aboard musical greats Vusi Mahlasela and Habib Koité. Soon to follow was Gnahore's sophomore loss, Na Afriki, which, thanks to her ever so expanding winnow foot, appeared on world music charts like a shot following its button. Laroche de Feline and Gnahore conserve a engaged operation schedule patch living with their girl in the French countryside. Gnahore's ease in a broad array of African musical styles has earned her a reputation as prodigy and natural endowment that will one day help oneself chart the course of action for the genre.
